The first church was built in 1866 and was a mission of Holy Rosary Parish, Wyoming. St. Christopher Church was renovated and rededicated on December 11, 1873 and the Forest Mission was attached to Parkhill in 1884. A new church was dedicated on December 1, 1893. St. Christopher Mission was detached from Parkhill and attached to Our Lady of Mercy Parish, Sarnia in 1897. In 1907, St. Christopher became a mission of Corruna until 1924 when it then became a mission of St. Peter's Seminary. In 1934, the mission was detached from the seminary and attached to Our Lady of Mercy Parish, Sarnia. St. Christopher was elevated to parish status in 1939. In 2002, construction began on a new church which was officially opened and dedicated on October 27, 2002.
